Job Title: Mental Health Therapist

Location: Glen Ellyn, IL (in-person and remote)

Sweetgrass Therapy is dedicated to providing high-quality mental health counseling services to individuals, couples, children, and teens.

We are currently seeking passionate and qualified counselors to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide therapy sessions both in-person and via telehealth to any/all of the following types of clients - adult individuals, couples, families, children, teens.

- Demonstrate clinical competence and good judgement when engaging clients.

- Maintain a proactive, confident, and assertive approach while remaining flexible and attuned to client needs.

- Develop & maintain a special interest in working with specific clinical issues such as trauma, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, relationships, grief, depression, and others.

- Collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate a supportive and collaborative mindset towards Sweetgrass Therapy staff (administrative) and contracted companies.

- Contribute to building and maintaining a caseload of 24 clients over 4-5 days (full-time) OR 10-15 clients over 3-4 days (part-time).

- Show interest in working with multicultural issues and providing culturally competent counseling.

- Show interest and experience in addressing spiritual issues (no specific religious tradition is required) and providing spiritually sensitive therapy.

- Demonstrate a drive for continued learning and curiosity about new therapeutic approaches and techniques.

- Efficiently manage time and administrative tasks including note-taking and documentation.

Qualifications:

- Fully licensed as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in Illinois. (ALMFT, LPC, LSW are considered.)

-Experience of 2+ years highly preferred. Candidates with preliminary level license are encouraged to apply regardless of experience.

- Availability for at least two evenings per week (5 pm to 9 pm).

- Availability to work 4-5 days/week (full-time) or 3-4 days per week (part-time).

- Remote availability (work from home) is open to discussion and negotiation.

- Assertive, open to feedback, attentive to policies & procedures, open to appropriate humor, eager to connect with team members, excited to serve clients.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Previous experience in private practice settings preferred, but not required.

- Eagerness to cultivate a rewarding career in mental health counseling with Sweetgrass Therapy over several years.
